I love how it's a "privilege" to do work in the JWs.
Do more work so you can be given more work to do! -

This one was from a place called the "Judicial Conformation Network", an organization in favor of conservative judges. They warned me that liberal judges could take of the Supreme Court if Obama is elected.
For what it's worth, the last time I checked it seems that most of the left leaning justices are the ones that are set to retire and so Obama would most likely only be able to keep things going the way they are. -

"The Truth" Tract - A Delusional Fraud?
by metatron inthe new tract promises to tell you how to find true happiness.
does anyone ever suffer from false happiness?
how does that oxymoron work?.
-

The new tract is a delusional fraud
what else is new ;)
I think it's amazing that the JWs think the message of 'finding truth' is still relevant. People in our society want community and are less interested in 'accurate knowledge'. Just look at the churches that flourish and those that are shrinking, it's quite obvious. -

jesus denies being God! scriptural discussion.
by reniaa ini thought after recently reading the bible i would put up for disussion some recent scriptures up which for me show that jesus never viewed himself as god and anyone listening would also see it this way too.. first mark 10 :17-20.
17as jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him.
"good teacher," he asked, "what must i do to inherit eternal life?

My opinion, for what it's worth.
The trinity is a doctrine that arose in order to makes sense of a number of biblical contradictions. Either you harmonize these contradictions through the belief in a trinity (or something else), or you pretend that the contradictions are not there.
At the end of the day you end up arguing about an invisible entity you've never actually met. -

JW's who only stay for social reasons are serving out of wrong motives
by yadda yadda 2 inwe know that many jw's are very disillusioned and would probably love to step sideways from their religion.
but they stay because all their friends and family are jw's.
this is especially the case with younger ones and single ones in the organisation, who often have very sophisticated social lives and networks of friends in the organisation.

The same thing goes on within the LDS church. These people call themselves 'cultural mormons'. Here's a website that discusses it more:
http://www.newordermormon.org/
I for one don't care whether a person actually leaves the JWs or not, I would rather them simply be informed of the choice they make. I think the real problem comes from people who have made the choice to be JWs because they have been baited and switched by the Watchtower.
For people who actually choose to stay simply for social reasons I say to each his own. I think a strong argument can be made for the fact that many of the worlds churches are filled (especially in the west) due to people wanting a sense of community and fellowship and not some high and mighty devotion to dogmas. -

The Reasoning Book is Inspired
by Thirdson inthat is what 2 jw ladies who came to my door recently told me..
to start at the beginning, periodically, these ladies have called and spoken to mrs thirdson but always on a week day.
mrs thirdson is always very polite and has accepted the mags saying that i might be interested in reading them but making it clear that we are christians and not interested in joining their religion.

Think of the dilema facing those women. They could either sift through the jumbled mess that is the Watchtowers explanation of 1914 (and possibly realize how stupid it is when they are done, not to mention embarrass themselves trying to do it), or they could simply state that the information comes directly from God.
They want to believe it's the truth, therefore they make every excuse and reason to believe it as such. -

Why Do JWs Believe They Have The "Truth" When Their View Keeps Changing?
by minimus ini don't get it.. can anyone explain it to me?.
-
drew sagan
Because they want it to be true, and will make any excuse they can that will enable them to keep believing it is.
They will deny it, but any member of that religion has made a huge emotional investment in the faith. Many of their own hopes and dreams are tied to it being "the truth". Dreams don't die easy.
